There was a man named Fhyn who was 25 years old. He became a shifter when he was 15when the first vampire he ever saw travelled through Diamond Bluff. He was out fishing with his grandfather who is chief of their tribe when they first saw a ‘Cold One’. He had heard stories about the vampires his entire life. They ran from him. Just when he thought they were going to get caught, several different enormous arctic animals came out of nowhere and attacked the vampire. He knew what they were. They were members of his tribe who were its protectors. They had shifted into their spirit animals. They had all been near cold ones before, which was why they were able to shift. That night he began to get sick. Two days later he was well again but he was bigger, stronger, and faster and his body had grown to full maturity. His father helped him to discover his spirit animal was a Kodiak bear. He now protects his family and his tribe from the cold ones; including the Hearts. He doesn’t care that they don’t feed on humans. And when his grandfather passes away, he will be the chief, then it will be time for the Hearts to leave or be killed. Fhyn found out he had the ability to shift into a Kodiak Bear when his grandfather send him on a spirit walk to discover his spirit animal. He built a camp high in the mountains where he meditated without food or water for 3 days. On the third night a Kodiak bear came into his camp and attacked him. This was the way his spirit animal chose him. It slashed him brutally across the chest before he managed to get a knife and kill it. From that day on, he was able to shift into a bear . Fhyn is now living on the reservation outside Diamond Bluff With his grandfather., and is working as a mechanic on the reservation. Fhyn likes to restore classic cars, play football and go cliff diving, but doesn’t like shopping, Justin Bieber or women with nasal voices. The good thing about Fhyn is He has a good sense of responsibility, he is reliable and he is fiercely loyal to his tribe , but the bad thing is he is closed minded when it comes to vampires, he is bull headed and stubborn, he refuses to make eye contact with women because he doesn’t want to imprint. And that’s Fhyn’s story, he is the grandson of the chief and both his parents are dead so that makes him the next chief when his grandfather dies. He knows when his grandfather is gone, he will send the Hearts packing. He does not like them around his tribe or his family or even the humans who live in Diamond Bluff. No matter how nice they seem, there is always a chance one of them will slip and kill someone. Even one human life is not worth the risk.

Fhyn opened the garage doors to his auto repair shop and put out the ‘open’ sign. He liked cool days. Any time the temperature got over 75, he was just miserable. His body temperature ran so high anything above that made it almost unbearable. That was one of the things he liked about living in Northern Canada, it was always cool. Unfortunately, their cloudy skies are what attracted the Hearts to Diamond Bluff to begin with. He looked out across the road at the crater lake where his people had lived for hundreds of years. This was their home and he would be damned if he was going to let the vampires move in and put any of them in danger.
He turned back to his garage and began to set things in order and getting ready for his day. He had a lot of old cars to work on, most he would take payment in canned goods, chickens, wild meat and fish. He owned his shop and would one day own his house, the head was a wood burning fireplace and the water was pumped form a well, he didn't have many bills. And most of the people around were working poor so they needed their cars to live. Someone had to keep them running and he was the best choice for those who couldn't do it themselves. He didn't mind. These were his own people and he was sworn to care for them, no matter what it took.
