(Harry Connick Jr.)
There was a man named Dylan Heart who was 28 years old. He was turned into a vampire in 1450when his family was attacked by a coven of vampires. Dylan and his wife Abigail lived on a small farm where they lived off the land with their 8 children. They had 2 sets of twin boys and 4 girls. One night a coven of 3 vampires broke into their home and began feeding on them on by one, beginning with the children. By the time Dylan heard something and woke up to check, all of his children were dead. Two of the three vampires fell upon Dylan and Abigail just as another two vampires rushed in to save them. The two vampires killed one of the wild vampires and the other two ran away. It was too late for Dylan and Abigails children but Dylan and Abigail were saved by the golden eyed vampires. They were taught what they were and taught to live off animals. When they had control of their thirst they broke off on their own and tried to build a new life, but they missed their children sorely. After 20 years Dylan happened upon a burning house and a young man laying out in the yard. He was dying so Dylan bit him. He took him home and adopted him, hoping he would help fill the space in their hearts left by his children. It seemed to help a lot. So as time went by, they managed to adopt 7 more young people. Their stories can be told at another time. Dylan found out he had the ability to captivate people like the pied piper when he was travelling with his family from one country to another. There were guards on the road in the direction they were going. Something told Dylan that the guards were thieves because they stopped the people before them and took half of their belongings. Dylan knew he could stop them from taking anything but there was another wagon behind him and he couldn't let them see that his family was vampires. So, he began to sing, just to lighted the situation. The guards just stopped and stared at them as he drove his wagon by . Dylan is now living in Diamond Bluff with his wife and children, and is working at the town school as the headmaster. Because of Dylan’s love for his children, he wants them to have as normal of a life as possible, so he started out getting degree in education so he could teach them all at home. But he showed such an affinity for it, he continued his education and soon began working at the schools in the towns they lived in so his children could attend them. Since he now has a doctorate in education he has taken to applying for positions as headmaster at the schools in the towns they live in. . Dylanlikes to to sing, his favorite songs are in the style of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and others of that genre, he likes to play baseball with his children and he likes to take his wife dancing. But doesn’t like people who are mean or cruel, he does not like carnivorous vampires and he does not like it when he is disobeyed.. The good thing about Dylan is a very good singer, he is a very good headmaster, he is a very good husband and father , but the bad thing is if he sees a carnivorous vampire he loses his temper and goes after them, he forgets anniversaries but his children remind him, he drives too fast. And that’s Dylan’s story. He hopes this new start will mean at least 5 years of a normal life for his wife and children and he hopes that his family can be a valued addition to this community. He thinks it is important for them to try to assimilate themselves into society so that they can at least appear to be a shadow of their human selves. They may be monsters by design but that doesn’t mean he can’t at least try to be civilized and control his urges and he expects the same thing from his family. He doesn't call them a coven because they are so much more than that, they are a family and they always will be.

Dylan smiled into the mirror as he tied his tie and straightened his collar. He hummed a tune he learned a long time ago as he made sure every line was straight and every surface smooth. He looked sharp in his headmaster’s uniform. He picked up his comb and ran it through his hair one more time before flashing a brilliant smile at his reflection in the mirror. He stepped back and pulled his suit coat down before turning and exiting the master bedroom. He stepped lightly down the stairs and smiled at his wife standing by the door waiting for him and their children.
"Come on everyone." He called out. He smiled at his wife as he hit the bottoms stair and pulled her into his arms and immediately began dancing with her. "Step aside, step aside, the crew's gonna take a ride. Better stand behind the barricade, here comes, here comes the big parade." he said with a brilliant smile as he spun her around. "Are you read for the first day of our new life in Diamond Bluff?" he asked her then kissed her to the cheek but didn’t stop dancing with her until he heard his children all coming down the stairs in their school uniforms. It didn't matter that they were all in pairs. That was something that naturally happened. He was just happy they all found a love as deep and true as the one he found in his wife. He beamed up at them, “This is going to be so great.” He said with a brilliant smile.
